Day 1 Arrive in Chengdu, be met at the airport, and transferred to hotel. If time permits, visit the Kuanxiangzi (Kuanxiangzi (Wide Lane)) (Kuanxiangzi (Wide Lane)) and Zhaixiangzi (Narrow Lane) (Zhaixiangzi (Narrow Lane) (Narrow Lane)), it used to be home to officials in the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties and are among the city's cultural heritage sites still intact today. Originally, single-story houses and courtyards featured the specialty of the area. To relive the taste of local life years ago, teahouses and folk arts are readily found in the area while displays of the lifestyle, dialects, food and customs of Chengdu in the past will be reinstated in museums. In the evening, enjoy a wonderful variety show of Face changing and Flame Spitting - Out of Sichuan Opera.
Day 2Visit The
Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in the morning. It is located in the northern suburb of Chengdu on Futou Hill about 10 km from downtown Chengdu. Giant pandas live in large naturalistic habitats, which help the visitor to understand how these animals live in the wild. The Research Base is one of the important centers in China for the captive conservation of giant pandas. After lunch, we drive 40km to visit Sanxindui Museum; it is situated in the northeastern part of the state-protected Sanxindui ruin by the bank of the Yazi Rive. Two large sacrificial pits were found in 1986 boast the most important archaeological finds on the Sanxindui Ruins for the past half century. The exposure of a large number of spectacular relics created a great sensation, making the Sanxindui site well known to the world.
Day 3Visit Wangjiang Tower Park (Wang Jiang Lou Gong yuan), Wangjiang Tower Park (Wang Jiang Lou Gongyuan) has more than 150 kinds of bamboo brought from all over Asia, and the lush bamboo forests provide plenty of shade in the summer. There is a four-story wooden 'river-viewing pavilion' that was built in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) in memory of Xue Tao, a Tang Dynasty poetess who often wrote about bamboo (thus bamboo is the park's specialty). The pavilion overlooks the Jingjiang River. It is a good place for the local people to drink tea and play Taichi or Chinese Gongfu. Drive to Mt.Emei, enjoying countryside views of the Chuanxi Plain on the way (two hours along expressway). Visit Baoguosi temple-the largest temple at the foot of Mt. Emei. Afterwards, take public tour bus to Wanniansi temple parking lot, change to the cable car to Wanniansi temple-the most famous temple on Emei Mt.
Day 4Keep on trekking today. Passing the 5 km-long Heart Watching Hill, you will be at Calming House. On the journey from Calming House to Elephant-Bathing Pool, there are the scenic spots of Zhanglao Terrace, Chu Hall, Huayan Summit, Jiuling Mountain and Zuantian Slope. Have a good relaxation and Enjoy a tranquil night here, because you are on the half of Emei Mt. The wild monkeys might give you a lovely surprise! Overnight in the guest house of the temple named Elephant-Bathing Pool.
Day 5Today you will continue trekking to Golden summit is 1.5 km. far from Elephant-Bathing Pool through Lianwang Slope and Leidong Ground. On the Golden Summit, beyond Woyun Nunnery and Golden summit Temple, people could enjoy the four spectacles on Golden Summit which the height is 3077M above sea level.
Day 6Drive half an hour to Leshan, board a tour boat have a panoramic view of the biggest carved Buddha statue in the world. Then continue drive about 2 hours from Leshan to Huanglongxi old town in the morning. It is 1700 years history and around 30 miles away from Chengdu. For most of local people, Huanglongxi old town could be a place where it will bring them back to their childhood. The aged old trees, old temples and native custom all together can be an amazing to you. At Huanglongxi, despites the latest renovation, some of the old architectures were built in the late of Qing Dynasty, which was the last feudal dynasty in Chinese history.
