Tour Dates Destinations Today’s Activities Meals Day 01 Arrive in Beijing Upon your arrival in Beijing, you local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to explore the capital city of China or just relax and recover from jetlag.
\ Day 02 Beijing Today you will visit Tiananmen Square, and the Forbidden City that is the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace. This was the palace for 24 Ming and Qing Dynasty emperors who ruled China for over 500 years. Later you will visit the spectacular Temple of Heaven, which is the site for the most important spiritual obligations of the Emperor.
B Day 03 Beijing The highlight today is a an excursion to the breathtaking Great Wall, one of the most remarkable feats of mankind. In the afternoon you will visit the Sacred Road. It is part of the Ming Tombs complex. It is a long, straight path flanked by statues of ancient government officials and animals. Attend a welcoming Peking Roasted Duck Banquet for dinner.B Day 04 Beijing/Xi'an Take a morning flight to Xi'an, the ancient capital city. After lunch, you will visit Shaanxi History Museum ,there are thousands of treasures on display such as magnificent bronzes and porcelain, which are from many Dynasties. Still you will have a tour to the City Wall that is the worlds largest and most complete ancient castle of military facilities.B Day 05 Xi'an Todays activities start with visiting the Qin dynasty wonders -- Terracotta Warriors. Should be interested, you can drop in to the factory where you can witness the whole process of making the duplicates of the Warriors and Horses. In the afternoon, you will visit a Buddhist pagoda, Big Wild Goose Pagoda and the Bell Tower, a stately traditional building that marks the geographical center of the ancient capital.
B Day 06 Xi'an/Lanzhou In the morning, you will fly to Lanzhou, Gansu Province. You will visit the first bridge over the Yellow River, Zhongshan Iron Bridge, and the Water Wheel Garden. Giant ancient waterwheels, made in the Ming Dynasty, were used for irrigation of the farming fields along the Yellow River in ancient Lanzhou City. This garden is built to honor the invention of this ancient irrigation instrument. Later you will stroll in the White Pagoda Hill Park, a large, quiet area that was first established in 1958. It is a nice place with green forests, scattered pavilions, and teahouses.
B Day 07 Lanzhou/Xiahe Drive you to Xiahe, and visit Larang Monastery, home to the largest number of monks outside of Tibet Autonomous Region. Ride a horse to explore the mysterious Songke Grassland. Being a natural pasture of Tibetan nomadic peoples, it is famous for its superb grassland scenery
B Day 08 Xiahe/Lanzhou Drive you Back to Lanzhou.
B Day 09 Lanzhou/Wuwei Take a van to Wuwei where you will visit the Leitai Tomb of the Eastern Han Dynasty, a large brick-chambered tomb of late Eastern Han Dynasty discovered by local farmers in 1969 beneath an old locust tree. The tomb is famous for its bronze galloping horse unearthed. In the afternoon you will marvel at the Wuwei Wen Miao Temple, a grand construction complex imitating the royal imperial palace, built in Ming Dynasty. Finally heading for the Five-Springs Mountain Park, which is famous for its springs and ancient Buddhist constructions.
B Day 10 Wuwei/Zhangye Today you will first take a worship tour to Zhangye grand Buddha Temple, well known for the remains of China's biggest indoor sculpture of Nirvana Buddha. After that, you will visit the Wooden Tower of Sui Dynasty, built as long ago as the sixth century, before being burnt down and then restored in 1925. The upper storeys are supported by twenty huge wooden columns. On each corner of the octagonal storey are carved Dragon heads with pearls in their mouths.
B Day 11 Zhangye/Jiayuguan You will visit other sections of the Great Wall, including the Suspended Wall, built on the ridge with the gradient of 45 degrees and high in the air and it looks as if it fell down from the top of the hill; and the Jiayuguan Pass, the western end of the Great Wall of the Ming Dynasty as well as the most magnificent and best-preserved pass among the over thousand passes along the Ming Great Wall. At last visit the Great Wall Museum.
B Day 12 Jiayuguan/Dunhuang You will find the Yulin Grottoes real wonder today. They are the branch of the Dunhuang art complex. It is one of the important caves in Gansu Province, other art paradise in China.
B Day 13 Dunhuang Marvel at the Mogao Grottoes, one of three noted grottoes in China and also the largest, best preserved and richest treasure house of Buddhist art in the world. Later you will hear different musical voice when you slide down its slops of the Echoing-Sand Mountain. Encircled by the mountain, there is Crescent Lake so called because of its shape. Ride a Camel in the dessert. Take an overnight train to Turpan.B Day 14 Turpan Transfer you from the train station to your hotel. You will stroll around the Gaochang Ancient City, which was a town of military importance on the silk road. Later you will visit Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves. There are 77 rock-cut caves at the site. Most have rectangular spaces with rounded arch ceilings often divided into four sections, each with a mural of Buddha. In the afternoon you will pass through the Flaming Mountain and enjoy the eye-catching Grape Valley.
B Day 15 Turpan/Urumqi Take a boat cruise on the Heavenly Lake. Surrounding the Heavenly Lake (Tianchi Lake) are snow mountains, glacier forests and grassland alpine lakes, featuring a vertical natural landscape belt.B Day 16 Urumqi In the morning, you will search the Erdaoqiao Bazaar, largest market of ethnic minority goods. In the South Mountain Pasture, you can visit local houses to have some milk tea and mutton or can rent horses to ride around the grassland.
B Day 17 Urumqi/Guangzhou Fly to Guangzhou.
